Did I mention I have a new assistant?  How about, did I mention that she's the previous assistant for the trust advisor who left, and that trust advisor and I were collecting data to expedite her termination?  Yeah, we were trying to get her fired because, while she isn't incompetent, she is useless.  She's all attitude and personal phone calls.   ( Read more... )

To give you an idea of my mindset, I actually tried to work this through! Unfortunately, with large corporations, you have to stick to policy. Policy states we can't post her position until her position is open. And the posting has to remain open for a minimum of two weeks to ensure internal candidates are given the appropriate chance... it goes on from there...

But I would have loved to have you as an assistant!

My former supervisor is the same way. We have a manager on site now so her new title is 'senior computer operator' but I do her job. Everything she does is drama, she does no work, and yet they handle her with kiddie gloves. I'm like you and could list pages of what I'm working on so it drives me crazy. Plus, the rest of the people see it and then they don't work as hard. That's why my fingers are crossed for this new job, I need a place where people aren't sitting on facebook all day while I work!

I admit to keeping my phone on my desk, and that phone does pick up emails, twitters and texts. But I work through lunch and stay late and work damn hard... so they can go ahead and try to sue me for that!

Monday I have a meeting set with her. I think I shall ask her what it is she really wants. That question always threw the guys off balance... I wonder...
