Thanks for this and your other guides. What I have most trouble though is WHAT to put on the icon. Usually, I settled for the name of the person, but I'm tired of that. (example: see my icon) Any ideas?

It's hard to figure out WHAT to put on an icon, that's something I constantly deal with. When it comes to movie or TV icons I rely mostly on quotes by the character or just from the movie in general. Occasionally when I'm creating an icon with text it's because the image sort of 'spoke' to me. I saw it while looking for images to use for icons and inspiration struck. For the rest, like you, I tend to just put the name of the character for lack of a better idea and feeling the need to fill space. Below are a few examples.

The first icon is a quote from the show, for the second I saw the expression on her face and just wrote text that went with it. The same with the next, I saw the image and basically wittingly described what I thought of the situation from the show. For the last one I just used the characters name and some tiny text.
