Alton is apparently becoming a columnist for Mental Floss magazine., he's on the cover of the issue that I saw on the racks last week and though I didn't read the entire article, I got the impression that he's going to be a regular contributor ( Read more... )

I looked at the "article" in Mental Floss, and it was really only the one page of little comments; there wasn't any more to it than that, so I didn't buy a copy.

I'm not much of a fan of the magazine, and for a two-page spread, I also didn't think it was worth it.

Was there ever a final episode of Good Eats? I kept looking for an announcement or something and it never came. It seems like Food Network basically gave up on the show mid-2011 and shipped it off to Cooking Channel, where it could be further edited down for time. Gotta make room for all those commercials for Baron Ambrosia somehow.

I wouldn't hold my breath for it to appear again, at least not on FN. Where would they find time for it, with all the competitions and "restaurant makeover" shows they have to air?
Not that I'm cynical or anything...
Thanks for the iTunes info. Maybe I'll also look for the DVDs.

Agreed. I quit watching FN when Alton moved to Iron Chef America.

I'm glad that he is probably doing better, financially, but I'm sad that as an avid watcher of Good Eats, that his whole show seemed to change toward the end.
