Okay, so

clairbourn's character roster is at an all-time low of 59 characters with only ONE incoming Freshman. It will probably be less after I do another "in or out" Activity Check, as I don't think this number is entirely accurate. We have three characters on reserve and get maybe one app a month.

Well, I've gotten aori_radidjiu to come along before.

There's another friend of mine who's really been off-and-on about whether he's going to actually try apping anywhere or not, and clairbourn's been on his "under consideration" list each time primarily because Josh and I are in there, but he's shown a tendency to back out of actually trying. I can poke him with sharp pointy things and try to make him actually do something since he's recently started expressing an interest in apping somewhere again, but I won't be able to actually guarantee anything.

I've actually mentioned this every single time it's been brought up, but it doesn't seem to really be working; his latest reason for backing off is that he feels that it would be too slow.

So I just told him that things might move at a just-slightly-faster pace if we had more people around. He has yet to respond to this at this moment.

That's a question I'll have to honestly consider before I give it another go, of course; I was more asking to see if I'd be WELCOME, if I thought I could give it an earnest go this time. Given, as you said, the two previous failed attempts. :c

I want to app there, and I know what characters I want to app there, buuuut I want to see how well I can juggle Bete Noire+Ruby City+Mayfield before I do anything.

Well, yeah. It's just...I know Clairbourn isn't going to add a lot of pressure if I do join, but I want to see if those three games provide a comfortable level of activity before deciding to app anyone anywhere else, you know? I haven't even been accepted into Mayfield, so...
