That fear, however, was a little too late in coming. But then again it wasn't as if Dante had to worry about all of them. There was only one cop there at the moment, doing a little investigating on his spare time, dressed down in civvies and the twin pistols holstered to his legs hidden under the long brown coat he wore ( ... )

Dante raced through the bare apartment building with his twin pistols in hand. He rounded a corner and quickly dove for the other side of the room as a blast of black, crackling energy struck the wall behind him where he had come in. He come up fingers pulling the triggers of his guns and a barrage of gunfire sounding off at the speed of lightning. Some hit their mark; most didn't as the demon raced off into another room.

Dante sneered and silently went after his prey. It had taken too long so far; too long to find them in the first place, too long to kill the first one, and way too long to find the second once he'd run off after his "brother" had died. Now that he had him in his sights he wasn't about to lose the pest.

Cursing quietly under his breath, Dante made a mad dash to intercept the creature of darkness before it could manage to get outside through roof or alleyway.

Tony halted as he heard the blast followed quickly by gunfire. Either someone was carrying a machine gun or one of the Dantes he knew was already on the scene. He listened carefully to the sounds of the battle before rushing up the stairs, managing to make it up onto the second floor and intercept the demon before it could make it into the stairwell ( ... )

Suddenly from the center of the stairwell a flash of red flew by, plummeting to the bottom of the stairs in a reckless abandon with the accompanying sounds of gunfire. The bursts were brief, only sounding in the quick second where the hunter was side-by-side the fleeing devil who was still running down the stairs. The space was small between the stairs but Dante somehow managed to squeeze perfectly by in his careless drop and land with an unnatural amount of grace on his feet at the bottom floor.

The devil hesitated, its initial escape route now blocked by the formidable hunter. Though the demon was undeniably quick there was one thing Dante failed to grasp each time he called it the "little bugger" in his mind's eye. It wasn't little at all. The beast barely fit properly into the stairwell going in one direction. It's partner had been tiny, to the point of practically being an imp, and fast as lightning, agile as a cat. This one was bulky to the point its hulk belied its speed. Its curled tail lashed angrily at its side as it ( ... )
