I being a musical geek and thespian as well as a "windie" naturally have taken an interest in anything I can get my hands on from either of the musical adaptations of Gone With the Wind. Recently I was the lucky winner of a program sold for the London production from the '70s in an ebay auction. I dunno about you, but I NEVER would have guessed ( Read more... )

Those are cool pictures. Being an actress myself (although I am not musiscally inclined and I have a limited number of musicals that I actually like) I am not sure how I feel about a GWTW stage musical. I am sure it was a huge success. If someone bought me tickets I would go see it lol.

You would think they would do well! Both attempts actually flopped! This was the first attempt the second was done a little over a year ago in London and it was TERRIBLE...the critics were saying it was the worst piece of theatre they had ever seen! Hahaha..I've heard both of them and I have to say the new one was god awful. It was sad because they had a very talented cast.

I actually saw the second production in London. The guy playing Rhett was actually pretty good. The production had interesting ideas, to be sure, but the majority of the music was awful. The composer was like, just an English teacher who wanted to write a GWTW musical, from what I read.

These are great! Lucky you. Would you mind if I used your scans for a challenge over at gwtw_stills with credit to you for them? If not-no hard feelings.

Thank you! I actually uploaded the cast album from that production a while back. I can't imagine the actual musical was that good, but the album itself isn't bad.
