I'm trying to figure out where the new stadium is going to be. What did they tear down ? Surely it wasn't the big coal plant just to the SW of the RCA Dome ?!?
Nope, the coal plant is just north of the Marriot on the right hand edge of that picture.
They didn't tear much down; they ripped up the big parking lot on the south side of South Street from the Dome and tore down that big blue windowless building that had the Colts horseshoe painted on it. That was actually fun to watch.
The perspective is all skewed, too; the dirt pile you can see in the distance is only a block-ish south of the stadium, on West Street. I drive past it every day.
Oh, and since i'm on a know-it-all kick right now...That's not a coal plant, it's a steam plant. Downtown Indy is heated by steam, and that's where it starts, i think.
