Lol. It is really funny to me that you think he's adorable, because that's him trying to look all epic and brutal on stage. Off-stage he's this sickeningly adorable little bundle of slightly awkward adorableness. Like, you don't even understand how fucking adorable he is.
You should! I feel like you would like Korpiklaani. They stick closer to folk and are generally awesome. Though I feel like you would also appreciate the maniacally bouncy rhythms of some Finntroll songs. Like this.
....... bait for what? The mutant plants? And I'll try.
Folk metal is, in fact, the best kind of metal. But obviously I am super-biased. Also, Finland is an amazing place (I hear tell) and therefore we need to go visit it someday. And also Norway, because I probably have extended family there.
Haha, yeah, your opinion doesn't count. Have you listened to it, then? What bands? And I concur. Scandinavia trip ftw. I might have family in Sweden or Norway, but that's going back way too far to know.
Not too much, just some Blind Guardian and Dragonforce (which is I guess isn't folk metal) and Waylander (Celtic metal ftw!) Obviously we must do this. But not when it's dark all the time, because that would be a) depressing and 2) frustrating
Blind Guardian and Dragonforce kick ass, but yeah, not really folk metal. But yay, Waylander! I've only listened to a few of their songs, but they're awesome and I want to listen to more. And yeah, we should go in the summer, for the midnight sun! But I'd be willing to go for a little while in the winter, just for the experience. Also Northern Lights.
And honestly, I don't listen to metal at all, like ever. But I like the rhythm of the Finntroll one that you linked Pelly to (... I feel like my only issue with the music is that I like my singers to sing. Is that a legitimate point?) and I went and looked up Vesilahden Veräjillä and :D tis fun.)
Honestly, it's perfectly legitimate for that style of... vocals to grate on your ears. I'm not always okay with it myself, but I love Finntroll so much that in their case I don't mind. And you get used to it. And it helps when the vocalist is super attractive. (Because the picture I linked is the Finntroll vocalist.) But I'm really glad you like it! I highly encourage you to follow YouTube links and whatnot. Even if you don't like everything you hear, there are a lot of different things out there in the wonderful world of Finnish folk metal.
