The only bright side to TVD's hiatus is that my other favourite CW show comes back this week aka The Dan and Blair show aka Gossip Girl aka What Is My Life.
There's been a lot of press about Gossip Girl's return in the last few days which AWESOME TELL ME MORE ABOUT HOW DAN AND BLAIR ARE THE BEST but then there was also this:

LOL at the comment though - they make it sound more like a bromance - like Blair doesn't even exist.
Dair though, they're perfect! Excited for new episode!!!

LOL RIGHT?
I'm pretty sure Dan mostly still thinks Chuck is the worst and Chuck is really butthurt that Blair likes Dan's hair better than his so..... alternate universe, maybe?
Also I can remember maybe... two... scenes from this season where they even had a conversation so idk Safron.

Basically I've decided that Safron just secretly ships Dan/Chuck for some unfathomable reason and is therefore living in a dreamland where that is possible.
Dan/Blair is happening clearly so whatever Safron, get over it or just go back into your little corner and write Dan/Chuck fanfic or something.

Side-eying that SO MUCH. I don't even watch the show (I tried once so you don't get to talk me into this this time, I *might* give it another try is somehow I run out of other things on the to watch list) but I feel the need to rush in and say BLAIR IS NOT A PRIZE TO BE WON.
This is why people like me hate love triangles (goes back to side-eying Stefan and Damon once I stop glaring at this one).

The way we viewed it, I think it's very clear that Blair is not afraid in those moments, for herself. They have a volatile relationship, they always have, but I do not believe-or I should say we do not believe-that it is abuse when it's the two of them. Chuck does not try to hurt Blair. He punches the glass because he has rage, but he has never, and will never, hurt Blair. He knows it and she knows it, and I feel it's very important to know that she is not scared-if anything, she is scared for Chuck-and what he might do to himself, but she is never afraid of what he might do to her. Leighton and I were very clear about that.

So, you know. Improvement.
ALSO. DON'T WATCH THIS SHOW. IT IS THE WORST. LIKE IT ACTUALLY IS. I CAN'T IN GOOD FAITH RECOMMEND IT.
On the other hand, there is the delightful screwball romance that is the Dan and Blair Show and you can find it all on youtube.

Okay, that's a lie. I'm more excited for Dair sex, but I don't quite want to admit it to myself.
