Yeah basically I sat through two classes today and only have the vaguest idea of what happened in both of them because I was too busy stanning for Elena Gilbert. #NO REGRETS

I'm so pleased/surprised that Elena and Caroline currently have second and first place, respectively. TEAM ALL THE LADIES Y/Y.

I know I will stan for Caroline when/if she gets through, but Donna will probably go a lot further than Caroline.

I am Team My Favorite Characters (and defensive of the guys since they seem to get so much hate this year, don't get me wrong I love the girls, but the level of hate I see being directed at the men for just having dicks is getting on my nerves

Hmm, I don't think it's hate so much as a lot of people being really excited to stan for their favourite lady characters? And I think it's awesome that there's so many well-written and interesting lady characters currently on TV to get excited for and vote for!

I think a lot of this stems from a certain archetype of male character who often got the nod in the past - characters like Dean Winchester, Sheldon, Damon Salvatore, Barney Stinson etc. who are mostly assholes lol (even if they have other redeeming features!). And so I think for some of us it's like, WHY IS BARNEY STINSON WINNING HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER AGAIN WHEN ROBIN EXISTS. :|

anyway tl;dr, I'm sorry you feel that way. I've voted for many male characters, I just tend to get more excited about the ladies. :)

I really wish people would learn how to support the characters they love WITHOUT tearing down other characters. (Which is partially why Team Elena is winning me over, just the epic outpouring of love I've seen that is for the most part void of bashing other characters

Elena and Caroline are friends in canon, and purposefully paralleled this season, so I really have no idea how would any od us combine mad stanning for one and fierce hatred for another :).

Yeah, I think I've seen less stanning of female characters and more outright hatred of male characters that it makes me sad.

I think I also hate how they all get lumped together, because for me Dean Winchester is NOT Damon Salvatore. I've been watching SPN since it started and I just adore this character so much, he's right up there with Buffy for me. Just an amazing/beautiful/complex character.

I think the part that has bugged me the most is what I saw in the Sherlock bracket, all the people voting for John Watson in order for Sherlock NOT to win. IDK I was so happy when I saw John was winning. I adore him so much, but then I saw it was mostly because people hate Sherlock and that kind of crushed me. I want people to vote for John because he's awesome, not because they hate another character.

I switched my vote for Elena, because GOD I DO LOVE HER! and really as much as I love Caroline, I think Elena has had an amazing season this year and I want her to have a shot.

I am SO conflicted about the DW contest. On one hand THANK YOU FANDOM FOR REJECTING ELEVEN (I mean, even Rory is beating him...half the time, they're basically on the same level) on the other WHY ARE YOU NOT VOTING FOR ROSE? YOU ARE CLEARLY NOT WORTHY OF HER AWESOMENESS.

I'm currently voted for Lily on HIMYM but will probably end up changing to Robin if it helped her beat Barney. Same goes for Penny on BBT where I've currently voted for Raj but I want to beat Sheldon a lot and will happily vote for one the girls to do it. I can't make up my mind on Community. I love Annie so much and it kind of makes me sad she's not doing better, but all the Britta love is kind of moving even if she's not my fave.

But mainly, HOW CAN WE GET ANOTHER BIG PUSH FOR ELENA AT THIS POINT? I kind of fear she's caught everyone she's going to get on her side. And I don't know where to find more people who will join our campaign.

Or Rose, if there was ANY possibility of pulling that rabbit out of a hat I wish I knew how.

Hahaha. STRATEGIC VOTING FIST PUMP. Penny is starting to gain on Sheldon though so \o/. And at some point I changed my vote from Annie to Britta because the campaigning moved me ngl.

THIS IS MY FEAR TOO. I think maybe we should just call it a victory if we can get her to 300 votes by tomorrow? I NEED MORE FRIENDS THAT I CAN HARASS.

I haven't watch HIMYM or TBBT in over a year, and you know why? Because I was sick of Barney and Sheldon. (Maybe not only that, but those had a lot to do with it). So yeah, you better believe I'm more interested in seeing them knocked back than I am in the other characters.

But then with Community I LOVE ALL MY CHOICES, just pick someone for me to throw my energy behind I don't mind who it is.

(I hadn't realized until I was writing my first reply that as much as I LOVE Elena and want everyone to vote for her...I'd sell every vote she has for Rose's sake. I might not sell them to the Damon crowd but I'd hand them to anyone in my next five or so choices without blinking an eye.

Now I kind of feel bad. This clearly is not the way to think of new ways to get votes for Elena.

Hermione Granger doesn't even need a team, Hermione Granger just shows up and accios everyone else's wigs.

Prelims are always the most stressful time for me NGL. I THOUGHT THIS ONE WOULD BE NICER BECAUSE THE DW BRACKET WAS SHAKING OUT NICELY but people had to be dicks and put me on the defensive anyway.

I tried selling my Robin vote for a Donna vote but in the end I just had to vote for Robin anyway because she deserves it.

What's wrong with Sheldon? I stopped watching this show two years ago or sth, I don't really remember much, and now I'm genuinely curious what happened to make so many people angry with Sheldon.
