I still love HIMYM, but I definitely agree with you that the way they handled Barney/Robin was awful. I think that the writers broke them up because it changed the feel of the show. A lot of the humor from the show comes from Barney being... well, Barney and it was hard for the character to be that way while he was in a relationship. I get it. BUT I loathed the way they broke them up. They broke up because they didn't like that they weren't hot anymore? WHAT? That was awful. There were a billion more legitimate reasons why they could have broken up. Maybe they realize that they both are fail at being in a relationship and shouldn't be in one right now. THAT makes sense. The whole getting fat and ugly thing was ridiculous.

Yeah, the breakup episode made me go "LOL.... FALSE." And then all the followup being about how much more hilarious Barney as a womanizer is just made me go "...meh."

This seems to be a common thread with hockey fans everywhere, except those from Toronto. The Oilers are at the bottom this year, and even we're like PSHT THOSE STUPID LEAFS. :D

I. BEST MOMENT EVER. Seriously, why is CBC not making this show? All Canadians would relate to it and all Americans who get CBC would watch for the same reason we love Hoarders and Steven Segal: Lawman (i.e. car crash theory).

III. I can only think of one episode where I genuinely liked Barney as an asshole before he fell for Robin--The Bracket. That was a clever use of him being a player, and mostly came down to the group arguing about how awful he is. Other than that he's (dare I say it?) boring. NPH is SO much talent; they need to let him use it!

Bleh. You haven't missed much with this season. It's been not entertaining.

I. RIGHT. GENIUS. The CBC continues to let me down.

III. YES. He could be funny and you're right that NPH is really talented, BUT... I found him most likable and most funny when he liked Robin and didn't know what to do about it.
