As distressed as I am about the whole "playing an American" thing, I also feel that I could totally offer my services as an American accent coach, since I live in LA, have ridiculous amounts of free time because I'm unemployed, and I have a midwestern American accent. It's perfect! Why have I not located this job on Craigslist yet???
What can I say? I'm selfless like that. I'm a giver!
Oh, there is NOTHING WRONG with a Scottish lawyer in America. NOTHING! I find the whole thing sort of troubling because we in America have a tendency to, like, ruin things. (You may be familiar with our work.) So there's a weird part of me that almost doesn't want it to get picked up. Which is kind of mean, but oh well!
Does anyone know what his American accent actually sounds like? Because every time I try to imagine it, all I hear is, "It's a fightin' haaaand!" Which is amusing and all, but...
I don't want to sully Mr. Tennant's good name when it comes to American accents, but let's just say that the fact that he has apparently been taking lessons with a dialect coach is a very good thing. He's... not a natural with it.
I can't get angry over this travesty because knowing NBC and how the pre-season works, this will most likely die in development and it will be just a blip on our collective consciousness.
(And then he can go work on that show with Joss and Giles!)
lol PROBABLY. Also I think someone should tell David Tennant that the average American season is composed of 22 episodes and not the 13 he has grown used to.

Although I do agree that the suit is appropriately YUM.

is this too much to ask for?!

Though I really do not think I can watch a lawyer show even if it did have David Tennant with a Scottish accent and sideburns.
