That episode was so disappointing to me lol. It was so cheesy, too. The fall off the roof with the music and them holding each other in slow-motion omfg. It was Reichenbach all over again, I was laughing. Speaking of which, I snickered at the few Sherlock Holmes references, but that was about it on emotional front. I wasn't sad to see them go. It felt more like a relief. Maybe if it was an hour long it wouldn't feel so contrived, but I doubt that'll help much given how most of the plot revolves around themes we've already seen and been told a million times. Yes, I know the Ponds will do anything for each other and will grow old together and Rory will always die and Amy will choose him no matter what and omg I KNOW. We've been through this for two and a half seasons. Nothing was surprising, nothing was fresh. Meh :P

See, I think it was a final step. Up to this point we've been talking about love, and this half-series was about marriage. There was a lot of growth from Asylum of the Daleks to The Angels Take Manhattan.

I'm attempting to elaborate in an essay, so I'll let you know when I do if you're interested. :-)
