[From the thinkings of Luna Lilith Lovegood]
[Tucked in with the first entry is a
photograph of a little kitten]
For Christmas this year, Susan gave me a notebook. And now I am writing in it. She showed me the ones that she'd brought from China and the one she had in England. They were filled with thoughts and mementos from her life. Photographs and newspaper clippings and ribbons and whatnot. And I thought to myself that perhaps she wanted to nail down my thoughts and keep them trapped in a book forever...
But then I realised she didn't want me to lose my thoughts. Everything has been stored in my head for so long that it is getting very full and I think it is a very good thing that I now have a book to put things in. Especially now. So many things have happened that I don't know where to begin. Christmas was far warmer this year than last. There were no rats scurrying across my bedclothes. I actually have bedclothes this year.
I am thankful for that.
Although there have been some stumbles, carried over from last year, I'm happy that this year has started. Absolutely fresh with no mistakes in it.
And yet... Sometimes I don't know if I'm sad that I don't have a person to spend my life with like Terry does or that I'm happy I don't have one that would break my heart like Ronald and Hermione.
Their fight was so loud and so angry and we haven't seen Ron since he left. It hurts that Mr Arthur didn't have what little family he knows of here for the holidays.
I'm not sure if this journal thing will work. I keep thinking about other things.
Seamus baked a seed cake and gave me one. It was very delicious, but not as many seeds as I had expected. I shared it with a bird that forgot to fly south.
Penelope gave me a cat. His name is Piglet and he has a very pink nose. He is very small, but a little bigger than Michael the Hedgehog. I pulled a drawer out of one of the dressers in another room and now he sleeps all day in it.
Yesterday I found Topper curled up with him.
They shall be the best of friends.
I wonder if anyone knows just how much I love them?
I found evidence of a Nargle in the breadbox. That's the third one this week.
