Are there any healers not fr [pause] unaffiliated healers that might consider taking on a pupil? I am educated in some of the healing arts, but I would like very much to learn more.

I have not. I would prefer to learn from someone not of their [pause] order.

Why not? No, it's rather understandable. The medical department of the Hour has not exactly [pause because he feels disloyal] covered themselves in glory lately. Have you tried the Grounds? I believe there are one or two independent healers plying their trade there...there might be a few surgeons around the market place.

What is it they've done?

I've been in the Grounds most my life. The healers here are well-meaning and adequate for their purpose, but they are not masters of their trade. They are family-trained. Many of their methods involve folk remedies that are not always effective. I'm looking for a teacher, not a [pause] peer.
