Has anyone else been dragged into a snowball fight against their will? As much as I hate to admit it, my cousin has rather impressive aim. Now if only he applied such dedication to anything else in his life. [gone] I lost rather badly to him.

Never against my will. Though I may have dragged others into one against theirs.

You're a cruel man, then, Owen.

Nonsense. Once the first ball is thrown, one is bound by honour to accept the challenge.

So, by that logic, you're challenging them to a snow duel, not a fight.

I got rather soundly beaten by Stark a few days ago. I say it's cheating if the balls are mostly ice. I've got bruises everywhere.

He threw ice at you?

More or less. There were frozen bits inside the snow.

Horrible things our Guard get up to.

I suppose one could make the case that he was purposely trying to hurt you...

Perhaps if you were better at archery, you would have stood a chance~

I'll tell them. [pause] What do you think she wants to see you about?

I doubt it, but it's sweet of you to say so. He has a good arm.

I'd wager you a new piece of jewelry that it involves the marriage discussion again. I'd even be willing to add that she's certain she's found me "the one".

What of your evasive maneuvers? I would've thought you'd be quick enough to dodge, cousin~

It can be an entire family affair. [quickly struck out] That's a wager I won't take because I'd guess that, too. Though, I wouldn't know about "the one." Unless she meant the one most beneficial for the family.

I thought so, too. Apparently, I'm out of practice.

She remains hopeful that she'll introduce me to someone who I won't immediately tell her to send off. I don't think she quite gets that I would prefer someone intelligent.

Oh! It's much better to be dragged! That way when you miss and hit the wrong person, there's someone to blame. ♥

I suppose that's true! I never thought of it like that.

All the fun with none of the responsibility!

Oh, but I suppose Steven has little time for it now.

Perhaps you can convince him to join you. If Valentin could draw me into one, I'm certain you could do the same.

[longish pause as she reads but still does not understand]

What's a snow fight?

You've never participated in one? You pack the snow into balls and then you throw them at the other person.

No. I haven't.

I think I've seen one.

Are they fun?

They can be. My cousin really should have asked, though. Getting struck in the back with a snowball is a bit disorienting.
