It's a sensitive subject, I know, but I have to ask. How many of you don't follow Cita? I mean, how many of you are part of some other organized, or unorganized, religion? Some days, I miss seeing mosques and temples and cathedrals all jumbled together. Nothing against the Civitates, of course, but Tyrol can be so fucking one-note.

I'm Catholic. I know there's one or two more of us, in the Grounds at least.

Catholic, hmm? That must be a tricky faith to keep here. All that Latin...

And my Latin is terrible.

Come on, then. Say something in Latin.

I am unsure if she's ever given me a name for it, but my mother does follow the religion of her childhood

Where was she a child?

From the Empire of the Ming, a country to the east. Her father was a traveling merchant.

And what does she worship? Gods? Spirits?

Catholic. [pause] A long time ago, though. I don't remember much now. I was much younger and didn't pay enough attention.

I have been to the Citadel once. It is a very beautiful building. But I do miss cathedrals. Nostalgia mostly, likely.

You ought to talk to Nikita. He's half a priest from the fucking sound of it.

Beautiful on the outside, there's no arguing that.

Cathedrals all look the same. Christians have very little imagination.

I retain things. That doesn't make me a priest.

And Catholic cathedrals look far better than Protestant ones.

I said half a priest. Hush up.

What do the protestant ones look like? Holes in the ground?

I follow the delightfully unorganized faith of myself.

Worship involves chocolate cake, fine wine, and hot baths. All at once.

Are you accepting of converts?

Always.

The world would be much better off, no?

If everyone worshiped women with beautiful names? Of course.

I follow the old deities of my people.

Old deities, ah? I like them. Who are your people?

lightoffoot September 17 2011, 19:11:18 UTC
The suomalaiset. Ah, the finns. Our lands are part of the Swedish kingdom.

Our deities focus on various aspects of the lands and nature. Nature worship, I suppose.
