Trapped, the second problem emerged. She got cabin fever. The nymph blood in her called louder for the wild and life. Melagrana's behaviour degenerated erratically - on some days, she would pace the walls of her prison till blisters formed on her feet or spin continuously, going through the motions without realising she was nowhere near the machine. On others, she stopped and stared at the wall, the window, the door, murmuring to herself, hands pressed to her face. Eventually, the sisters relented and granted her a break from her room. She thanked them and their daughters as she saw fit and ran for life outside the cottage's perimeters

Personality: Melagrana goes against the grain of a typical nymph. Compared to her kin, it is obvious that something within her has unravelled and snapped. At first glance, Melagrana seems like any other girl: perhaps a bit quiet and reserved. Past this first impression, she gets along well enough with people, though more like an acquaintance than an actual friend. Further interactions with Melagrana are disconcerting at best, what becomes jarringly apparent is that she seems to lack a little something. The cadence in her voice, the way she curls her fingers, or smiles or widens her eyes in surprise - they are like an alien beat in a symphony. It's hard to say why or pinpoint an exact reason, but the instances are varied and many. At best, she could be regarded as a fair weather friend to share a drink of joke with; at worst, the one you really don't want to hang out with but want to keep in contact with for some future need
