[Stella had walked through the village and realized that there were a lot more children than there originally were, and that most of them would probably be scared of such a new world without their parents - or whoever's looking after them. So, she set to work to give them one good thing about this world that most children are fond of: cookies ( Read more... )

[...Why is there a strange man setting up shop outside their house?

He looks pretty harmless, though--the cookies seem pretty unassuming--so she walks right up to the cookie table, hands on hips.]

What are you doing...here...? [Her demand loses a little momentum at the end as her mind, rather still aware of the female Sokka running about, begins to send up warning signals that something is wrong about how familiar this man seems. And not just because he looks like he could be a Ferines.]

[It's kind of strange thinking that his housemates don't even recognize him, but unsurprising. He raises an eyebrow and places his own hands on his hips, head tilted with a teasing smile.]

You don't recognize me, Fenimore?

[...............Please hold.]

...I don't think I want to.

[Pffff-oh that gets him to laugh. Even though this shape is incredibly awkward, and one can probably tell by the way he stands, this'll be fun.]

Maybe if my hair was longer...

[These books TALK. And have moving pictures in them. This is even better than the books at home.]

I like cookies...

((Mostly talking to himself. He doesn't realize those are PEOPLE in the books.))

[Aha, a customer! ... A rather odd looking customer, but eh, there are talking otters in his world, so this doesn't really strike him as unusual.]

Which kind is your favorite?

[Glances around. This is a little weird.]

I like the black and white ones...

Black and white? [Hmm, like chocolate with cream? Stella pauses for a second to look at his selection before he comes back to the book.] I think I have a few of those with your name on it!

Cookies? -Well she's not really a little kid anymore, but she's still a child at heart, and is attracted by the smell.-

[And hey, people of all ages can be attracted to cookies, so Stella wastes no time to gesture to the table.]

Pick whichever kind you like best!

Do you have any that can be served cold?

Most all of them can be. [He looks down at them and feels under the plates of a few.] I tried making sure they were warm to contrast the weather, but if you'd like them cold, you can always leave them out for a while.

[So Asch has decided that leaving the house - again - would be a wise idea, considering how much attention Luke is getting and the fact that it takes him all of five minutes to make even normal children cry. That and the constant wailing has been seriously getting on his nerves.

So he's marching down the road from the shops - and coincidentally, past Stella's house - with a bag and what looks like a tent kit on his back, and a rolled up blanket under an arm. Since he doesn't recognize Stella, he walks right on by without even a second glance.]

[Stella was just checking to make sure that the cookies were still warm when he looked up to see Asch. He slowly smiles and places his hands flat on the table - oh, this would be fun, but then he blinks and looks on in curiosity at the tent and blanket.

... Asch seriously wasn't considering camping out in the forest, was he?]

Asch, where are you going?

[Asch pauses, glancing over his shoulder at the strange man with the cookies. What the hell?]

Why is it any business of yours? And how do you know my name, anyway?

[... Oh that's right, he isn't really very girlie looking anymore. Still, that makes him snort and smile to himself.]

Honestly, even you don't recognize me? I'm hurt.

[Now Cloud is just coming over to check on Stella because it seems the whole village has descended into chaos. It was apparently one of those experiment things he'd heard about.

Cloud had been expecting something more...gruesome. Instead it's more like people singing and a bunch of adults turning into kids. Very bizarre.

So he approaches house 34 and who is that man.]

...who're you?

[Oh jeez, it's Cloud. Stella smiles just the same way he did with Asch, although he knows it'd be even worse for Cloud since he hasn't had experience with these experiments before.]

"Who're you"? You don't recognize me, Cloud?

Sure don't.

Sorry, but I don't remember being here before. [Cloud says this very flatly. He's had to say it quite a few times by now.]

[Stella has to giggle to himself at that. Oh, Cloud, thinking he's just some random person who happens to know him.]

We had a chat a few days ago. I was shopping for groceries, we happened to bump into each other...

You really don't remember?
