[The journal clicks on to Stella's face, only for her to move back and out of the camera's range with a giggle, showing the ceiling instead. There are some soft footsteps, and then her voice, along with her sister's.]

Oh, add little bows on the end, Shirley.

That's a great idea, Stella. Hm... What do you think of these? They'll go so nicely

[It had been remarkably long since she had had a chance to have some honest-to-goodness group girl-time. She really wouldn't have guessed it would happen while being kidnapped and experimented on, but, aside from the memory loss in December, she had yet to notice any such experimenting occuring. So it's grown easier to ignore it and focus on the more normal parts. Like playing with people's hair.

So Fenimore is now on the doorstep, lowering her hand from knocking.]

[Shirley opens the door with a cheerful smile that only gets wider when she sees Fenimore.]

Fenimore! Please, come in... [She steps aside, gesturing for her friend to come in out of the cold.]

[Stella's fluffing up Senel's hair a little more with a comb by the time Shirley answers the door, and she leans her head to the side to get a look, even though she still can't see the two of them.]

Is that Fenimore? Let her in, let her in! We still need to do the finishing touches.

[xelhes]

[Fenimore smiles in return as she comes in, kicking snow off her boots and taking off her outdoor clothing.

She gives a curious look to Shirley.] Finishing touches? [Fenimore hadn't realized there were going to be more people.]

[prayingone]

[Shirley closes the door behind Fenimore; if Fenimore turns around, her expression is distinctly playful.]

Senel needed a haircut. Stella gave him one.

[Stella laughs softly at that and answers as she combs Senel's hair back a little, preparing it for the finishing touch.]

But we figured he needed a little more than a haircut...

[The playful expression only makes Fenimore more curious. Though she's probably encountered it since arriving in Luceti, it still feels like a rarity--Shirley hadn't been in the most playful of circumstances back when Fenimore knew her on the Legacy. Whatever caused it must be something big.

She walked towards the sound of Stella's voice.] More than a haircut? Did you finally convince him to brush his hair or some--

[xelhes]

[And she stops, midsentence and midstep, when she views their handiwork.]

[prayingone]

Something like that... [Shirley follows Fenimore in the room, still smiling.] What do you think, Fenimore?

[Stella sets the comb down to places her hands on the sides of Senel's head and lift it up, giving her the full view. And all the time, he's still sleeping soundly.] Doesn't he look handsome?

[staaaaaaaaaare. what has science hairstyling done.]

[xelhes]

[and then she notices the little blue bows. At the end of spike-braids.

...Air escapes her lips with a "pffffft" sound.]

[xelhes]

[Pfffffft. Senel with bows in his hair.] Handsome? Hmm--I don't know... [Pfffffffft. A few giggles escape.] More like, he looks very....

[xelhes]

pret-- [Pfffffffffffffft. She can't say it, because she starts laughing and isn't entirely sure whether she's going to stop. While she's noticed the little girl on Senel's legs, but that's become secondary to the amazing sight of Senel.]

[prayingone]

[Shirley's never heard Fenimore laugh like that, but it's contagious; it immediately sets her off into a fresh set of giggles.]

Pretty? Why, I agree!

[But right after that, the laughter gets to her, too, and she giggles at first, then flows right into the laughter.]
