From what I understand, the authors of the books in question don't get to write the copy that appears on the back covers- but I like to think that, whomever they get to write those, they know exactly what they're doing. ;)

Oh, absolutely; the authors have no say in the back-of-the-book copy. That has no impact on the hilarity of dramatic readings. :)
