This week has been absolutely exhausting. Short weeks usually are, it seems. I think I've mentioned it before, but I work for four different people who are all based out-of-state. Once a month they are required to come into HQ for an all-staff meeting. For me this is fun in that I get to see them as I'm friends with them all, it's also horribly ( Read more... )

Definitely look for a little black dress. I have two and I wear them to most events, usually switching shawls and jewelry as needed. Most places have it, the big department stores (Macy's,Lord and Taylor's) carry a wide variety that are usually well priced. If you have an H&M in your area, that's a good place to find something more eccentric. Oh and I got the last couple of dresses from Target.

We're allergy fevered in NY so I assume some sort of nasty pollen/weed is in the air since it's getting colder.

Papaya has some cute, fairly cheap dresses. Although they might be too casual for what you're looking for. I found a nice sundress there that I've worn to a few weddings. Another I got from Kohl's.

Uh, I probably gravitate towards dresses one might consider weird, but Free People and Urban Outfitters are where I seek my non-consignment shop dresses out.

Come to England! That's where I'll be! We can have shenanigans! Seriously though, with the stress and the tired, I feel for you.

As for dress shopping, I like Zappos.com. You can shop by style, color, prices, size. And they're very efficient! I ordered some shoes from them a while ago and had it on my doorstep the next day. They also have a 365-day return policy. And returns are free!
