So, who here is worried about the economy? I guess I'm not worried about it because there's not a lot I can do. I do wonder, though, if we might end up repeating history. Hopefully not. I am from the unpopular United States. We're so unpopular, we don't even like ourselves! We didn't even wait a century before falling into civil war. That's how unpopular we are. ;)

In college, I had a history teacher who made the memorable observation that when two countries go to war, it's no longer a matter of which side is right or wrong from a moral/objective standpoint. It's reduced to a matter of, "Who fights better?"

*nods* I feel this is slightly similar to the U.S. Right now, I think the entertainment industry is one of the major ones for our country... That's fine, but it doesn't really yield something necessary or tangible. At the end of the day, whether you watch a TV show or movie doesn't amount to very much... So I think that's one of the problems we have. I'm admittedly not too knowledgeable even with my own country's industry, but I can tell you that right now it would probably be beneficial to put more focus on industries that yield tangible results. Technology sector is probably somewhere that could really benefit our economy... Medical sector is another... These sectors yield much more tangible/useful results than movie production. :}
