Hatter wasn’t at all used to cold: it took Alice a few days of pizza, questions and getting better acquainted to realize that Hatter was still hunching in his battered leather jacket when they went out, no scarf, no gloves, not even a warm hat, even after the snow began to fall.

What really impresses me is that Hatter hasn't stumbled onto something shady to do for employment yet. Gone straight for the girl is appealing.

3 seasons in Wonderland?- “We’ve got three seasons: dark, wet, and hot. Not a winter in the lot.” LOL! very sweet. Loved Hatter's stammering explanation of his previous non-relationships. Made me smile - Great writing!

Aww, that was darling. I love the details - Hatter not being used to winter, not knowing things like inches and Hanukkah - and the overall tone, how they're still settling into the relationship, tentative in places and telling stories and working out boundaries.

“Why is a raven like a writing desk?”
“Something to do with Edgar Allen Poe, I think,” Alice replied.
Hatter gave her a strange look, and hunched a little deeper into his jacket.
