Honestly, I'm very tired of seeing my Doctor sad, depressed and beaten down at every corner. I'd love a return of a more goofy, cheeky, lovable Doctor. I hope a certain someone's return can bring that about.
I'm going to have to echo what swankkat has said. As much as I appreciated that the continuity of having a darker, obviously grieving Doctor in s3, I did miss the fun, lighter tone of s2 and I'm hoping we'll get a bit more of that this time around.
I also cannot wait to see Donna in the TARDIS again, and to see how DT and CT play off of one another. I think it's going to be a good time. *g*
Like most people I'd love to see the Doctor in a happier light, with the emphasis well away from unrequited love on both sides. I would also love something planted mid-season that promised a happy outcome for him, even if we had to wait a while. Like him finding his grown-up daughter and discovering Rose was her mum and they raised her together. That would do nicely.
I'd also love it if he could talk a little bit about Gallifrey without going too dark and emo, just to show he's getting over things a little bit.
I'll agree on a happier Doctor. What I'd really like is a less obnoxious Donna. I'm happy to see someone not wanting to fawn over him but maybe she could be a little more low-key or a little more intelligent. I figure she'd have to be but it's my big worry.
