ugh! i love your description soooo much!

The four black shapes dropped down on their ropes with the grace and ease of silk dancers.

that line! it's just amazing! (i have to be all stupid and sound like an english professor here!) i LOVE the juxtaposition of ideas sooo much!

and that whole scene was just brilliant! it was so calm and peaceful as you describe someone's head being blown apart and yet you feel so calm and peaceful reading it!

I'm so glad that that's how the scene comes across, calm and measured was just how it needed to be, which is why I'm loving Johnson so much.

Thank you! :-)

My co-author had this to say, lol:

"A sniper has to have the ability to slow their heart rate down and be calm and peaceful within so they can carry out unspeakable horrors on other humans.

When you have a sniper scope you are so close to your victim you can see the sweat running down their face and be the only one that registers the change in expression as the bullet tears through into their skull.

To be able to do that they have to 'slow the world down into its separate moments' as an SAS sniper once told me. The mind detaches itself and the body takes over. Like a sportsman the movements flow and the mind is relaxed and at peace."

So, yeah :-)

I like your use of Johnson here. It was neat to get into her headspace and see that she actually does regret what happened to Stephen. I would be interested to see how Jack interacts with her.

Neat idea with the vortex manipulators.

I always thought she was an interesting character and wanted to know what made her tick. I really wanted her to come across as human, but a human that is also a ruthless killer... lol :-)
