Hey, all of you guys who know how to actually use a sword! Anybody up for a sparring match? I need to get better with this thing eventually

[Taichi is a stubborn child, and because he's been thirteen for a good couple of months, clearly this means he's a man and can handle absolutely anything.]
Cool. I'm at the barracks. You know where that is, right?
[Well, next to Ezra Taichi just looks like an unprepared doofus. He's going to take a moment to examine the armor. Damn.]
It's just something I borrowed from Sokka's place. [And he's pulling out his smaller cutlass. Yeah, it's not that impressive, but with the way he gives it a test wave he thinks otherwise.]
Taichi, like I've told you in class, it's all about focusing. Some of them are really quiet, or like certain conditions before they'll approach you. If you get distracted too quickly, it won't help.
I think it depends on how you went about it. Did you try actually conversing with them, or were they just words? [Nala only began to really come to her when she began to use the hymns to call her forth.]

[You know, other than he's latching onto that other subject now.]
Um...kinda? It's just a new hobby. [Mostly because he's not sure how Raine will take to him being a pirate in training.]

Maybe Buffy can help you find someone; I know she coordinates a program for putting together sparring students and professionals.

Buffy? [Yeah, he remembers her a bit.] I might get a hold of her and check that out. I think I want to try just on my own first.

During these spars, be sure to play to your strengths. Fall over a lot and fake an injury, savvy?

Signing your notes as "very concernedly" really doesn't help, you know.
