Sparring, huh? I guess I haven't trained much in the past few days. Sure, I'm up for it. Where would you want to meet?

[Unfortunately, Erza's described in-canon as being physically incapable of holding back, and her strength is absolutely ridiculous.]

[Taichi is a stubborn child, and because he's been thirteen for a good couple of months, clearly this means he's a man and can handle absolutely anything.]

Cool. I'm at the barracks. You know where that is, right?

Of course. I'll be right over.

[After a few minutes, Erza shows up wearing her regular armour, though she appears to be unarmed at the moment.]

So what kind of sword do you use?

[Well, next to Ezra Taichi just looks like an unprepared doofus. He's going to take a moment to examine the armor. Damn.]

It's just something I borrowed from Sokka's place. [And he's pulling out his smaller cutlass. Yeah, it's not that impressive, but with the way he gives it a test wave he thinks otherwise.]

Taichi, like I've told you in class, it's all about focusing. Some of them are really quiet, or like certain conditions before they'll approach you. If you get distracted too quickly, it won't help.

[A pause.]

... you're learning the sword?

I know, I know, but there's gotta be something else to it, Raine! ...and I don't get distracted that fast.

[You know, other than he's latching onto that other subject now.]

Um...kinda? It's just a new hobby. [Mostly because he's not sure how Raine will take to him being a pirate in training.]

Yes, you do, or you'd remember more about what we've covered in class. Maybe we should have a pop quiz right now. Are you ready?

Maybe Buffy can help you find someone; I know she coordinates a program for putting together sparring students and professionals.

[SIGH.] Raine, come on! It's Saturday! [Which means no, no he's so not ready.]

Buffy? [Yeah, he remembers her a bit.] I might get a hold of her and check that out. I think I want to try just on my own first.

Sparrin' huh? Ah! That reminds me, I never did find a sword to use!

....Well, guess I really don't need one now that I've got my Pokemon...

You should go talk to Sokka, he's got a lot of them at the Smithy. But I bet the Pokemon fight better than a sword.

Oh, totally! Monferno's Flamethrower can probably melt a sword!

I don't know if Agumon's Pepperbreath could do that, but I bet Greymon could easily do that.

Dear Taichi:

During these spars, be sure to play to your strengths. Fall over a lot and fake an injury, savvy?

Jack:

Signing your notes as "very concernedly" really doesn't help, you know.

I think it depends on how you went about it. Did you try actually conversing with them, or were they just words? [Nala only began to really come to her when she began to use the hymns to call her forth.]

Haruhi told me I had to sit there and listen for them first, but I thin--

[Hold on. Hold on, that voice. Taichi's been so caught up in his own projects with the Brigade and with trying to be a pirate he must have missed the memo, but no, there she is.]

...Tear?

[The amount of surprise in his voice catches her a little off-guard; perhaps he is another she met when she was here before?]

... Yes. How do you know my name?

...you don't remember? [Well, if he suddenly sounds a little disappointed, it's because he is.] Do you remember being here at all before?
