A case of you reap what you sow?

Theres a current popular topic on the UKFUR forums right now about the levels of trouble and rudeness and general animosity/crap spammage that the forums seem to breed. I totally agree. I get quite annoyed by admins acting like childish gods.

To be honest its kinda behavioural psychology, people find it easy to rebel against a strong authority figure, but if you treat them nicely and be reasonable most folks will go along with it and not cause trouble.

Moderators should diffuse situations and know how to handle people who are angry and unstable, then things go much smoother.

I cant speak for the meets, most of the time I have fun at them, but forums are notorious drama breeding grounds, I just think people often get riled up more by the attitude they get from other users and those in charge than any genuine issue.

Derp I've started posting less and less myself recently. Not that I was ever a big poster, but I will admit that I only ever posted sometimes to get a rise out of a certain individual.

You make some good points for discussion, and I agree with some, but I think the people in charge genuinely want a good forum even if sometimes their methods arent achieving it...

I agree, splinter sites are forming but I dont see these as taking over from what is the main place new furs meet each other...tho I do see how most long term users there are those who are willing to put up with it, warts and all, not a representation of the whole fandom...
