Losing a pet is always hard. Knowing that you did the right thing and they are at peace now helps.

I have a couple of cats that are getting on in years; one of them I've had as long as I've been married and she is ofter referred to as our oldest child. I am not looking forward to their passing. Having lost pets close to me in the past I know how you feel. If you don't mind shedding a few more tears, there is a great book out there called "Cat Heaven" which is comforing.
