Friends-Only Journal, Comment To Be Added

Aug 18, 2008 13:41

Due to Real Life concerns, I have had to go through every post and friendslock my entire journal. I didn't want to have to do it, but perhaps it's for the best after all.

If you'd still like to watch my Harry Potter fandom/art journal, click here to add me and I'll add you back as soon as I get online--I check every time, so you shouldn't have to ( Read more... )

I'm sorry sweetie, I'd love to add you but I can only add people who 18 years or older. Should have added that to the post; I'll edit it a bit later.

I'm still trying to think of a way I can make my tamer art available to the public so that younger LJers can see it. It's possible I'll create a third journal for that purpose, but I don't know how people would take to the idea.

If I end up doing it, I'll let you know. :)

Hi there. I am definitely over 18 and I've heard very good things about your art. Will you please add me as a friend?

Also, is your journal title from the book by Madeleine L'Engle, A Swiftly Tilting Planet? If so, I love that book, that's so cool.

thanks,
Beth

*adds you*

And yes! That's exactly where it's from. You're the first one to mention it.

The Time Quartet has been my all-time favorite books since the first time I read them in elementary school. Man, what great books. I've read A Swiftly Tilting Planet about...an estimated 17 times more than the rest. Haha. You've never seen four more worn and loved books on anybody's bookshelf. :) They're more tape than page.

They are great books. The first too were a little more science fiction than I really like, but the second two are great. I think I've re-read them about...I don't even know how many times. I loved seeing the twins having an adventure in Many Waters but I think Swiftly is my favorite. I love L'Engle's descriptions of the universe and its connectedness and its joy. It makes me sad when I realize that the world is still under the same types of stress with war and nuclear weapons as it was thirty years ago when she wrote the book. You'd think we'd have learned something by now. Now, I'm making myself sad. And L'Engle is never sad. She always ends on a hopeful note and that might just be the best part.

Okay, I've rambled on long enough here. Now that I can I'm going to go check out your art.

Have a lovely day.
Beth

I didn't know anyone else read her anymore! I love most all of her books, can't remember which are my favorite at the moment, but the combo of reality and "other" is great. Originality like crazy...anyway.....good to know you are out there!
