*big dopey grin* That was awesome. I especially loved:

They spend about a day giggling through What I Really Think About Your Hair

...because there is so a whole day's worth of material there, and:

"Congratulations, you've reached a new level of incompetence never previously scaled by mankind. Be sure to leave a flag."

...because yes. Brilliant. *loves*

Re: What I Really Think About Your Hair

This is the most hair centric team ever a la Rodney and Thinning Hair, John and Artifully Spiked Hair, Ronon and World Conquering Hair, and Teyla and Must Be A Wig Hair.

I am sure there LJ communities dedicated to this topic alone somewhere!

True, even though that analysis leaves out Beckett's My Goodness I *Am* Surprised Hair.

Oh, this is just wonderful.

They spend about a day giggling through What I Really Think About Your Hair, too high to care about being offended

I so want to see this...

"Congratulations, you've reached a new level of incompetence never previously scaled by mankind. Be sure to leave a flag."

*giggles madly*
I adore your snarky!Rodney dialogue. You're so good at it.

Awwwww. Poor Rodney (and evil Radek! I hope he at least apologises later!). But yay John!

*reads story again, smiling sappily*

Oh, the sheer rate at which my brain is willing to generate snarky insults probably says some incriminating things about my personality...*ahem* I don't know what you're talking about! I'm a very nice person!

And Radek was probably just paying Rodney back for the Planet with the Kids. Because as we all know, snark + smuggness = love!

:)

Well, I actually thought it felt like a mistake on Radek's part - I mean, repeatedly asking Rodney what he thinks of him, that's the sort of thing I would expect. But outing Rodney to John in public like that, I'd kind of assumed that Radek would not have done that deliberately; if John didn't reciprocate, it could destroy their friendship, and potentially cause career problems for Rodney if there are any homophobic types around. It didn't seem to me that Radek was expecting that kind of response. If he did, that would be a fairly malicious thing to do, and Radek doesn't seem to be that sort of person.

But you're the writer, and you know best!

Yeah, I totally meant asking what Rodney think part! No, I think Radek was probably expecting more embarrassment of the "You're really good with numbers and I don't mean any of the rude things I say about intelligence" variety; definitely not a big gay confessions. I definitely didn't mean to imply that Radek would ever try to out Rodney deliberately. He probably went "oh shit, now I'm really screwed" in his head immediately afterwards.

Ah, the power of being the writer.

Ha HA! I love you.

Which means, over the course of a day, Rodney goes from "I think you're probably pretty intelligent though sometimes you make dumb errors that annoy me greatly because they waste time and I have to fix them" to "Congratulations, you've reached a new level of incompetence never previously scaled by mankind. Be sure to leave a flag."

BE SURE TO LEAVE A FLAG.

Imma gonna go over here with my coffee and die of laughter now, kthx. :D

Srsly. I think I need to put up a post-it in my cube that says "BE SURE TO LEAVE A FLAG!" Hee hee hee hee.

I had my one cup (which is really two, as my mugs at home are ginormous) and am working on my first Diet Coke of the day. Ahhh, caffeine.

It's difficult for most people to write good Rodney-snark because Rodney is so Rodney, and it takes a certain amount of creativity and skill with words to write him well. You manage the snark and the rambling and keep him in character, which I admire. Nice character work, here.

Wow, thank you so much! I'm always apprehensive that I'm maybe writing him a bit too much because his character is so...um, intense? It's hard to know where to draw the line.

But I also think coming up with Rodney's insults is the funnest thing ever. ;)
