fic | Given a Choice, It Would Always Be Sunday [john/rodney]

Nov 13, 2005 21:23

There's something to be said about waking up at 5:30 and writing a fic off the top of your head.

(Set around the episode that spawned a thousand fics, aka "The Lost Boys", because I'm easily influenced like that.)

given a choice, it would always be sunday )

I love the style you use here, smooth and stuttering and spiralling. What a fab story and a happy ending which always good.

This is like... porny poetry. Only with a fade to black, but you don't even notice, because whoa - next cool scene! Rodney and addictions and John and chance, all handled perfectly. Romance for the romantically inarticulate, spelled out in coffee and coin tosses.

Wow, thank you, that's an amazing description.

Romance for the romantically inarticulate

You know, I'm cynically and embittered and whatever so I can never really quite believe in John or Rodney making these great romantic declarations. I always figured they be more, I don't know, everyday about it. But I love how you phrased that, and it totally captures what I was thinking.

Thank you! I really value orginality so I'm really glad you said that.

See, I always loved how they have such a spark (not necessarily a romantic one) together in canon, and people write wonderful stories about them in fanon that I'm completely addicted. But I'm really glad you liked the story even if you had to squint a bit.
