I'm the kind to sit up in his room. Heart sick and eyes filled up with gloom.

Dec 11, 2009 22:57

When Thomas woke up, the sun was streaming in through the window, and he could see brilliant blue sky through a space in the thin curtains. His mouth felt bone dry, but his head didn't throb, a pleasant surprise. Some part of him had expected the vampire safe tequila to have given him every effect of real alcohol. As it was, Thomas couldn't ( Read more... )

"What is this, name calling day?" Thomas complained, his hand running through Alice's hair. "First you call me a pervert and now it's mopey jerk time? And whatever that nickname means."

He did laugh, though, at Alice's question. "I'll leave the sunny optimism to you. It doesn't go well with the tall, dark and handsome thing I'm going for." Thomas leaned back on the bed, pulling Alice half on top of him. "So I'm up for the day, I think. Anything you want to do before the rest of the house wakes up and there are a dozen people to tiptoe around instead of just one?"

"I'm pretty kick ass at backgammon." Alice dropped a kiss at his shoulder, grinning up at him. "I mean I gotta assume you were referring to the wide world of board games seeing as how you got dressed and all, plus strike the out of doors 'cause I know you get distracted when I'm glittering up the joint, I saw you all looking out of the corner of your eye whenever we stopped for gas. You like it."

Another kiss to his chest, and a totally not-stifled giggle, 'cause she was pretty sure this was tantamount to accusing him of war crimes or listening to Menudo or something.

"Pants can be taken off, you know," Thomas answered. "If I recall, you're pretty good at it, except for that one ripping incident which I still haven't forgotten." The kiss to his chest spurred Thomas to tug Alice back up, kissing her with a laugh on his tongue and rolling over to pin her beneath him.

"Now that's just dirty slander. I'm not some glitter chaser," he answered, fingers tickling Alice's side. "Though I will admit it looks way better on you than on me."

"I am an expert at pants, probably like olympic standard but I'd take the silver to you and you know it plus, the ripping? Totally not my fault when you do that voodoo that you do so well, Mr. I'm Not Into Glitter, and since when do you sparkle like a diamond? 'Cause if there are pictures I basically demand them." Alice laughed at Thomas' burst of energy, not that it wasn't appreciated, and clearly talking wasn't getting them anywhere she wanted to stay very long.

"Seriously. Misguided glam rock phase? Frat prank? I'm prepared to tickle until you spill."

Thomas laughed in no little relief. "Did you not see that? During the month anniversary party, there were magic cupcakes that made everybody glitter. Even I couldn't pull that one off."

He squirmed theatrically against Alice at the tickling threat, a wicked grin playing at his lips as he used the opportunity to press against as much bare skin as possible. "I would've thought you TiVo'ed that one."

"Ok that just shows you I'm going fully senile in my old age, 'cause I actually forgot about that," Alice gasped, giggling at all the over the top that was Thomas. "You can bet Emmett's got it somewhere though, probably poster print-outs if I know him, maybe I should send for some to decorate my room wherever that ends up being, yeah?"

If they didn't already have obscenities scribbled all over them which, safe bet.

"Anyway I look better in everything than you do, quirk of nature, you were born to be pretty but I was born to work it, kind of amazing that anyone ever stands in our way, you know?" Being fake-pinned by Thomas was pretty much the best kind of fake-pinned, and if he hadn't been angling for an invite on jeans-removal, he could just try and stop her.

"Should I be worried if your brother has poster sized printouts of my sparkling ass?"

Even as he asked the question, Thomas' hands tugged her half undone dress over her hips. "Besides, you're only as old as you feel, Alice." He grinned, kissing her with light teasing touches. "Unless you're planning on going all Mrs. Robinson on me. Cougars and fresh blood and all that."

"I dunno about worried," Alice said a little breathlessly, laughing at the impromptu tug of war they seemed to be having with each others clothes. "I got this feeling we'd all be a little worried about Emmett if it weren't for Edward and the constant flow of drama from that quarter but yeah, you'd wanna watch your back I think."

One final tug and Alice had in fact removed Thomas' jeans, expertly if she did say so herself. She stopped all the frantic movement for a minute, hands wandering, and kissed him, smiling.

"Call me a cougar again and see how much fun you have naked in a room with me, yeah?"

There were some things she and Rosie agreed on.

"Watch my back against Emmett," Thomas repeated. "I'll put him on the list." Oh hey his pants were gone. That was quick.

He grinned, tossing Alice's dress somewhere over his shoulder, and began dropping kisses down Alice's throat, slowly and surely making his way down. "Alright, I take it back. Don't fault me for liking more experienced women," he said, pausing to scrape his teeth over the fabric of Alice's bra. "It's not like there are that many people more experienced than me, right?"

"Oh I'm experienced now, huh? Listen Thomas, you're in a house full of vamps who think I'm the kid, I mean sure, you're good at what you do-" the little noise Alice couldn't help making right about then was testament to that- "but experience? I think you've got a long way to go. Lots to prove, yeah?"

Alice threaded a hand through his hair, the familiarity of how nice it felt being just as good as, well, how nice it felt, and no tiny bit of relief that they'd dodged a fight, 'cause she did not need any more of those. "So if you want like, say, an invite to tea with a two-thousand year old vamp? I think you've gotta bring your a-game."

Like Pandora would care. But it was fun pretending.

Thomas didn't bother pointing out that he'd probably had more sex than some of the vampires older than he was. It'd probably kill the mood. Instead, he focused on working his way down, lips now brushing kisses over the plane of Alice's stomach, over her hip, with every kiss the Hunger sinking in a little further, drawing out a little more.

"My a-game?" he echoed from where his lips were paying particular attention to a spot close to her thigh. The look he shot her was pure decadent evil, all molten silver and laughter. A warm breath skittered across her skin. "So what I'm hearing is that you think I need practice."

Alice shivered at the touch of Thomas' mouth and his demon, because from where she sat, it was kind of hard to figure out which was better. Easier to pay attention to the expert lips playing over her skin once the pain and ebbed, which brought a huge sigh of its own. There was no one quite like Thomas.

"Practice never hurt anyone, yeah? Builds up muscle memory. Boosts your confidence. And you are so lucky you have me, because I am fully willing to offer positive and helpful critique."

"Critique, is it?" Thomas caught the scrap of lace in his teeth and tugged it slowly over Alice's hip, then stopped and made his way back up, fingers teasing and leaving trails of heat in their wake as his mouth lingered at Alice's collarbone again. "I don't know, practice seems like an awful lot of work."

One hand slid back down between Alice's legs as the other reached to unhook her bra. "Are you sure I can't just bribe the proctor instead?"

Arching against Thomas' fingers, Alice let out a hitched and breathy kind of laugh, wanting more than anything to just keep the joke going, stay on the edge of everything and anticipate, and she probably would've drawn out the game way longer if the promise of even less pain wasn't being dangled along with everything else he had on offer.

Which was a lot, practice or not.

"Bribery, that's where I get whatever I want, right? 'Cause I can work with those terms I think," she said, sliding a pointed foot up his back. "Unless there's some catch or something, then I could go get my scorecard?"

The feel of Alice's foot running up his back made Thomas shiver, and he arched into the touch. With both hands busy, his balance was already precarious and the movement only made it worse and Thomas all but toppled against Alice.

He grinned, turning the position back to his advantage by kissing her, the Hunger working slowly and steadily, stroking desire with his fingers and drinking in Alice with his lips. "The catch is I get what I want too," he answered, lips moving back to her throat. "But I think you can live with that catch, right?

"You'd better hope I can 'cause otherwise I am so marking you down for that landing. Sloppy, sloppy work Thomas-" Her voice caught when she felt his kiss at her neck, and her impatience was definitely beginning to fray her sense of humor, or maybe she was just that bad 'cause there was no giggling when she kissed him this time, just a whole lot of wanting.

"Let's just strike this bribery crap and call it mutually beneficial, yeah? Now do us both a favor and shut me up." Her legs tightened at his waist, fingers dancing over his back when she kissed him again. Really there was way too much talking going on in general, but she could take the fall for that one, no problem.
