I just saw An Inconvenient Truth, the Al Gore-driven environment documentary. My city was fortunate enough to start showing the film in our indie theater, and, though the seats were extremly uncomfortable, it was worth the drive. I haven't seen the film yet, since it is only playing in one theater in the metro area and most of the shows have been sold out, but I did see the original slide show in person several months back when Al Gore was in town. Totally eye opening, and very scary!

Ah that was genius. I saw it right before the movie came out. I think it's cool that Al Gore is on friendly terms with the Futurama guys. There was an old episode of Futurama where he was a guest voice (he played himself as one of the frozen heads). That episode also have Nichelle Nichols and Gary Gygax as themselves, and together with Al Gore, they were a special unit whose job it was to keep the universe and the space-time contiuum from peril. And of course, thanks to Fry and company, they fail at their job and the universe implodes, leaving them all floating in a blank white nothingness. "Great, the universe imploded," says Al. They all hang around in silence for a minute, then Gygax says "So, anybody want to play D&D?"
