There's no way to convince your mother to allow him to come? Or perhap a friend's house you can both stay at while he's there? Doesn't seem right that he can't come when you both want to see each other so bad. I'm sorry about that. *hugs*

I actually love staying in hotel rooms. My mother worked as a desk clerk in hotels through my childhood, so I'd spend the night in them and turn into an adventure. Grew on me because of that.

I'm sorry to hear about the quarrel you had with your friend. Keep trying to tell her you were only worried and hopefully she will understand. Also, it's a bit hard to stay in bed if you are very independent. I should've gotten an easier job when I hurt my knee, but pride kept me there until my knee kept getting worse. We don't tend to learn to slow down until our actions force us to. Perhaps now she will take it easy. :)
