I sooooo love my job!

Today was a good day!  We made a lot of props including spy kits with binoculars, fake beards and moustaches, spy cameras, and various spy equipment.  Also made today were lots of bows and arrows, a black hole, magic wands, a magic book, giant glasses, a suitcase and many, many empty rolls of masking tape.

OK.  Busy, busy, busy.  4 jobs and no time left over for other things.

One more day of school left.  Today we went to Valley Fair.  I had no idea this is what it’s like to chaperone students on a trip to an amusement park.  I now have a new reason to love my cell phone.

I have sooooo much to learn about being a teacher.  So many of my students are confused about the projects, I think I need to learn how to explain things better.  Or come up with better plans.  Of course, if the funding goes through and I am hired for next year, I will have plans available, ready and done;  ready to go, not fly by the seat of my ( Read more... )

Week 3 of Spring Term

Natives are restless, corresponding to what it’s like outside;  the higher the sun and temperature, the more restless.

I now have a core group of students showing up for class regularly.  One of the issues this school has is attendance.  Of the 30 kids on a roster, only around 15 show up.  I am told this is great ( Read more... )

I am subbing at the Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy 4100 66th in IGH today.  This is an ESL, ELL school for preK-7.  Today is the only day I will be subbing.  The company I work for today is Teachers On Call (TOC).
