I'm so glad I live west of the cascades. I'm at a homestead near Cottage Grove, which is halfway down Oregon. There are three houses in cluster tucked into the woods a couple miles out of town. They share garden space and some of their other resources in common. They are down in a narrow valley, with steep slopes close on either side. That means
