Tell Me How to Feel? Angry? Yes? No?

Last Friday I was getting ready for work. I was almost done so I grabbed my jewelry off my nightstand and went into the bathroom to put on my necklace. This was strange--I NEVER put my jewelry on in the bathroom because I'm usually afraid of what happened...um...happening? I thought I'd gotten the necklace clasped, but when I let go the chain slid ( Read more... )

COMPLAIN!!! I am a Community Manager (property manager/whatever your management company calls it) and if one of my staff did this/treated a resident that way I'd have their ASS! Now, I would expect and demand that no promises be made that they could get it in case it was beyond the pea trap (sinks in NJ have to have such a thing). And! Maintence should have been out on Friday since it was preventing the use of your only bathroom sink. If it was a two bathroom apt it would be a different thing!

Thank you!!! I was really hoping to get your professional opinion, since I figured your were a property manager from your posts about your job. I'm mostly aggravated by her attitude. I would have completely understood if she'd said, "Well, they'll try but I can't make any promises." That's totally reasonable. However, she basically told me tough luck.

It's a shame because I really like our property too.

Should I complain to the manager of the leasing office or complain to the manager of the property?

As to who to complain to it is a toss up. If there is a Leasing Manager that is in charge of the leasing professionals, then that is were I'd go first. This maybe as simple as this woman hasn't been trained in the service policies/philosophies properly. If you aren't statisfied with that, then talk to the property manager. Oh, and I'd ask if they have a written service policy/philosophy. If this is a big management company they should. If it is a Mom&Pop type thing it might be a crap shoot.
Let me know how you make out. I'm rather curious!! (Oh, and hopefully this isn't a Metric Property. I'd be so embrassed, but then if it is I know all the ins and outs of policy and can tell who's cage you need to rattle.)
