orange is of course from the "Orange ya glad I didn't say banana?" joke, and we often say Magillicuddy instead of McGee. you know like, "hey mr. goofy-pants McGee..." Same idea. Also one of his favorite books has a Mrs. Magillicuddy in i.

OOh yeah, stupid jokes and "doesn't get it" jokes are a normal phase, certainly. I am super amused by the fact that the two knock knock jokes he knows (orange you glad I didn't say banana? and boo who? don't cry it's only a joke) keep getting mixed together into brilliant new weirdness--"knock knock DON"T CRY!"
