The potato trick - not working

...and it just leave little bits of potato stuck in your light fixture.

If anyone has an idea of out to get the broken off piece of teensy-weensy light bulb out of my fluted lampshade, I'm all ears.

Good idea. Not the work gloves, as I am not near adult enough to have a pair of those.

I'll try it after I eat something, as it occurs to me part of my frustration may be due to my low blood sugar.

do you own pliers? I was going to suggest pliers if it is a lamp that you can completely unplug form electricity and not just something that can only be turned off.

Thank you. Now you need to come visit so you can help me figure out how to fix the broken part of the lamp itself.

When you break off a light bulb while changing it. I've been told to cut off a potato and push it into the broken pieces of the bulb to turn it to pull it out. Maybe it didn't work for me because I only had sweet potato? Oh well, pliers worked just as well.
