[A few seconds before something blunt pokes at the phone. A scoff, followed by another jab. Is that a cane?]

[Another keysmash and resulting series of beeps, then a frowning face comes into view]

[Awkward face is awkward, because he still has no recollection of the girl. He was only humoring her with his knowledge of, well, children's stories.

[But not to vex a child without provocation, Cain tried to reign in his confusion]

May I ask, when we met? Are you acquainted with my sister, Merryweather?

Is she here now? [Instantly distracted/concerned, looking about the surrounding countryside]

Where is she? [Cain asks, not satisfied, though his glance returns to the Dreamberry at the mention of Riff]

You spoke of him often enough I imagine I should. And he was looking for you only a day or so ago! Oh how happy he'll be to see you!

[Cain takes a moment to consider this - that Riff is here, and yet hasn't managed to find him yet, as he infallibly does, yet Merry is not.

[She must be somewhere safe. Riff would have seen to that, on his behalf]

Of course, but as you've only just arrived... well I'm sure he shall find you now.

Ah, but shall I explain about Somarium?

[Her smile seems to brighten all the more when he says her name. Oh how she missed him.]

Somarium is a dream realm. Right now, back in England, you are asleep, and when you awaken it will only seem like a few minutes or hours have passed no matter how many days or weeks or in my case a year, have passed. There is the city Somni and the village Espoir. Surrounding all of it is the desert!

We're speaking over a Dreamberry, daddy owns the factory that makes them so if you have any questions about them just ask him. Dreamberries can do amazing things, if you lose it by the next day it's exactically beside you. It can make calls, write letters, and a few other things. [She continues to explain some of the important functions of the dreamberry and a bit more about Somarium and concepts of "time" and how people could be from the same place but different times.]

There is... one more important matter.

[Cain is trying to process all of this without comment, a small frown settling into his forehead. He was only pulled from his reverie by the last remark]
