Lol! Its just like oscar wilde said "two countries seperated by a common language" :D I think because we've always gotten so much U.S Tv we're at less of a disadvantage maybe? :D
"Spiffing" is far removed from "Spliffing", though your patriotic efforts are appreciated I'm sure ;) lol
Spiffing is in the same category as phrases like: "Jolly good old boy!", "I say, what fine tea margery! I'm sure the Vicar will be most pleased!".etc. Basically stereotypical English 1900's gent's talk! Although I'm Irish its just fun to talk like that...*shuffles*..well, I think so but I'm a big kid :D
The PM is Gordon Brown who replaced Tony Blair, who replaced John Major, who replaced Maggie Thatcher- your dad was right though, John Major was boring, Blair and Thatcher were much more interesting (probably because a lot of people hated them!)

The closest thing I can think of in the States is "spliffing", and I try to be a good American and do my fair share! ;-)
It's great to hear that you're well!
Who's the PM there now, anyhow? My Father told me that there were two to study, growing up- Margaret Thatcher and Tony Blair! XO
Anywho, help me out with this Transatlantic vocabulary lesson!
