[Following along, really curious about what they're going to do.]

Why are you asking?

Well, to know if it's worth it to bake a cake belatedly, duh.

[Turn and patting him on the shoulder-] Precisely. We can't have your birthday overshadowed by some lame holiday, Kaito.

[After all he did miss it on the seventeenth too]

[He's a little surprised at first... but, after a second or two, he just smiles.]

Thank you.

Atsuro already cracked the outer codes so I should be able to see your interface program on the computer now. Let's have you link up so I can get a look at the song library and go from there.

[action] sorry for the lateness; if you don't wanna continue the thread that's okay too. OTL synthesice February 28 2010, 11:12:24 UTC
Okay!

[He's actually excited, a little bounce in his step as they're walking to the computers.]

[And he in turn will be taking up a seat by the laptop that Atsuro messed with. Then he's doing the bypass thing that was described to him and... ten or so minutes later it's bam, a Vista Windows 7 basic OS desktop. Anyway he turns to KAITO and-]

You're up.

[Link up, man]

[KAITO nods and looks over to the laptop screen. While it seems like he's just staring at it, internally he's communicating and hooking up to the computer. A typical installation procedure pops up on the screen, but Haruki doesn't have to click anything. KAITO goes ahead and breezes right through the whole thing, until the little screen that shows the installation progress bar finally completes. No restart necessary; congratulations and thank you for installing a Crypton product.]

I'm done, [he says with a smile. There's an icon on the desktop for Haruki to click titled VOCALOID Editor.] You can just click on that and the interface should pop up.

[Oh, that's cool.] So these are programs of the future, huh?

[And then he beams at Kaito before going over to that icon and clicking on it like some exited little boy and I should look up these programs myself to know how they work]

[Haruki being excited makes KAITO excited as well. It's actually somewhat self explanatory although there doesn't seem to be a lot of tutorials on the net when I Googled it, so I'll give some visuals and there have been quite a few users who taught themselves easily. Haruki should be able to pick it up in no-time.

He watches as the program opens with a fairly cheesy image. Then, the actual interface opens. It starts out with something popping up so that the user can choose which setting to use. Since there wasn't any other data, KAITO's default settings were in place. Once passing that window, the rest was a blank slate. Haruki could click on the icons to test them out; the pointer icon for the pointer, the pencil icon to insert notes, the eraser to erase notes, and so on. If Haruki puts in some notes, he might notice the Vocaloid 'language' used to make the sounds. Not to mention the vibrato and all that. There were other options to make it all smoother and more dynamic, if he wanted to. Either way, it was a lot to play ( ... )

[...Huh. This actually seems vaguely familiar, like he might have done something like this at home. In a way, it feels almost invasive to use this sort of technology on KAITO. He plays around her a little with making one or two notes before-]

...So I could compose something new altogether then. [His eyes actually gleam a little at that. He'll need to research some music before it comes to that though and- Oh. Actually this is as good place to start. Let's click that open button

- No he doesn't want to save changes to that -

And see if he can't find what's in KAITO's existing library or ... something. It's worth noting the guy's eyes are basically lighting up]

[KAITO just watches over Haruki's shoulder, curious when he notices the master opening the library. There's still quite a few songs in there labeled with various names and such; they're all either in the standard Vocaloid Editor format or .midi. Most of the songs are probably pop or ballad, and a good majority of them probably don't have background accompaniment. When users wanted to make a hit song, they always used real instruments or higher quality BGM software.]
