danny_sama artist's notes: Interestingly, from the research I did before starting this picture (Yes, I actually did research for a picture of this, ahem... nature. See, it's educational!), it seems that despite Caesar generally getting credit for the first burning of the Library of Alexandria in 48 BC, there is some scholarly speculation that it wasn't actually his fault, and that he was merely conveniently blamed by some of his [many, one presumes] dissenters. A certain 'senator Crolius', anyone?
