"Just talk to her the same way you always have. She's not an alien."

Adam looked wistfully to the skies. "Aliens aren't real, Anathema."

Anathema had another bite of Adam's mother's painstaking cake. "Why don't you go to your sister to talk about this stuff?"

Adam snorted. "You don't have siblings, do you?"

Your dialogue between Anathema and Adam is superb and right on-pitch throughout, but this one exchange in particular is flawless. I may be biased (as an individual with siblings who agrees with Adam hardcore), but it's so full of wistful insight. Lovely!

Thank you so much!! It honestly means a lot coming from you, the queen of the gorgeously written fic :)

I went back and reread all he Anathema and Adam parts, I think I forgot just how fascinating and fun the characters other than Crowley and Aziraphale are, which is a shame, but now I can't wait to go and listen to the radio show!

This was lovely. Loved her lunch with "Mr Fell"!

This has been a surprising and incredibly lovely and insightful exploration of Anathema watching over Adam while he is growing up. It was wonderful to read how they both figure out what their relationship entails, and how they can be mentor and mentee as well as friends. Your writing is wonderful. I could quote many sentences back to you, for the sheer originality and beauty of them; for some reason I loved this sentence with the imagine of the acorns at night in particular: Anathema and Newt held hands as they navigated the nighttime with acorns popping underfoot. Thank you and happy holidays!

Thank you so much :D

Let me tell you about these acorns. I was walking my dog and trying to soak in the atmosphere and that line popped into my head and I was so pleased with it and put it in this fic. But, I'm also in the Hobbit fandom (idk if you are) and now have all sorts of ridiculous associations with acorns and feel a bit depressed about it

Aahhhh, I love it! The progression of their friendship through the years is so insightful. Also Anathema makes my heart ache, with her elder sibling-esque feelings. And their conversations!!!! Amazing <3 (Also, the Mr. Fell scene was so nice and warm and friendly.)

OH. MY. SOMEBODY, SECRET AUTHOR, THIS IS AMAZING. I am incoherent with glee!

First of all, I am in love with your writing style. Your descriptions are so vivid and just perfect, and they get the tone of the book so perfectly, from the half-hearted plaque onwards. :) Also I just love, love, love the way you've written Anathema and Adam, and I'm so pleased that you chose that prompt -- and I loved that you also managed to sneak in one of my other prompts, which was awesome -- because I kind of doubted that anybody would, as neither of them get enough love. I must offer you my most enthusiastic contrafibularities! ;)

In more specific gushing, the entire opening scene had me in stitches. I love the spying thing, and I love how Anathema just happily goes along with it and isn't quite at home with being referred to as a grown-up. :) Also, this:

Adam raised an eyebrow. "You're not a girl," he explained, "you're too old ( ... )

What a fabulous comment - I'm so glad you liked it!! :)

I have a nephew who I have this kind of weird mentor/friend sort of relationship with, so I mostly drew on that for this

// I must offer you my most enthusiastic contrafibularities! ;)// Ahahahaha - that is one of my favorite episodes XD I quite enjoyed the excuse to go back and rewatch Blackadder to try to find a reference to throw into this fic

:) Thank you for the prompt! It was a lot of fun to write this, I've never written characters other than Crowley and Aziraphale really, and I ended up really liking it!
