Ahhh, yay! Awesome adult cop Pepper! I like it!

Also all the family stuff is adorable. Heheheheh, reenacting Star Wars in gingerbread and the disgusting eating habits of small children. ^_^

I love including little details, and kids are funny/gross. I can see Adam just loving them, much to everyone else's chagrin lol!

Oh, the thought of the Them growing apart when they get older makes me sad. It's realistic, but it makes me sad. I love Adam and Pepper reconnecting though - there's hope! And all the references and hints towards the chaos of a family Christmas are excellent and spot-on.

It was hard to break them up for me, too, but you do get a little taste of it at the end of the book, and I can see that seed sort of growing in Pepper as she gets older. But I like happy endings and I think sometimes it takes time for people to come around to the way things should be, which is sort of what Pepper is beginning to realize here. No point in fighting happiness & all that.

Thank you so much for this! I love your Pepper--grown-up, worldweary, sensible, but still with that determination to go after what she wants, and to hell with being self-conscious about it. And Adam, of course, very much content to be gotten. I also really enjoyed the more modern take on Tadfield: I like to think that as Adam grew older, his idea of a perfect British village underwent dramatic changes, even as his controlling influence probably lessened a little; and this reflects that beautifully.

I thought Tadfield growing up would be hard to write, but it kind of wasn't, not really. Adam would just see things he saw elsewhere, and then want them in Tadfield, and they would appear. And every teeny tiny little village in Britain manages a curry shop and a Chinese takeaway, so I figured I ought to give Tadfield that, at least. (The school, of course, is because Sarah complained rather loudly about the facilities for her precious darlings, and Adam...accommodated. Things fall into place around Adam, whether he means for them to or not.)

This is truly a rare jewel, there are not nearly enough Them fics!
Just awesome and I loved Pepper sooo much, that girl sure rocks! And it was all so perfectly plausible, I could really see this "future" happening!

Future!Pepper has a lot in common with Rachel Bailey from Scott & Bailey, I'm not gonna deny it haha. It was more fun than I expected working with the Them, though (& knowing there is always a lack in the fandom is incentive, too, because rarepairs are lonely things).
