Thank you so much, this is perfect! I love the references to Olympias and the Achilles parallel, and Alexander being cocky and formidable, and Hephaestion, and the beautiful chilling imagery. And War, old and above it all and so amused by the silly little humans...
(oh, and I adore that little moment when she first steps into his tent and he just knows she's there.)

You are so very welcome, I'm really glad you enjoyed it! I love Alexander the Great a lot so it was quite nice to be able to make references I knew you would get. And I haven't written that much with War before, so her headspace was just fascinating to get into.

This is the best thing I've read in months. I'm not lying. Your grasp of the history here is incredible, and your grasp of characterization and atmosphere even more so. I should know who you are, because I have access to the mod account, but it was not my turn to post on the day this went live, and so I do not know who you are.
