I thought: Adventure? Artifacts? How can I--and then an image of Anathema in a Tomb Raider outfit fiddling with her theodolite forcibly made itself at home in my head, so I just ran with it. What's more adventure+artifacts than Indiana Jones and Lara Croft together? I'm sure I don't know, but I bet it's not for the weak of heart.

I'm actually surprised they're so recognizable--I didn't look at any references for the clothes. Though I suppose Indy's hat/whip combo is very distinctive, Anathema's bellyshirt/butterknife combo I thought would throw people.

I don't think Newt himself recognizes who he's dressed as, or he wouldn't be so surprised by this high-velocity, gravity-defying, heart-stopping turn of events.

Indy's outfit is definitely distinctive and doesn't need much reference, but I admit that if not for Angelina Jolie playing Lara Croft I wouldn't have recognised the reference. xP

Well the description alone put a ridiculously lunatic smile on my face. The actual thing made me squeak OHMYGOD out loud. I am...this is...this!!! Anathema Device, Tomb Raider! I am so, so glad you liked it that much. I, er, may have trawled your LJ to see what kind of art you like--and subsequently almost succumbed to inadequacy when I saw acciobrain tried to emulate some of the styles you re-posted and failed but it was fun anyway.

As a side note: While trawling, I noticed you and I have a few interests in common, stranger. But don't worry, my stint as a stalker is over. Thanks, go_exchange and I expect you guys to pay my bail!
