Bee has scarcely left the workshop and already Endeavour is thinking about what happened back in Florida all those years ago.

It wasn't like what had just gone on. There was nobody telling them that Columbia had popped a hole and disintegrated upon reentry. Endeavour - back when she was inanimate but artificially sentient - had heard the workers

"I counted them while you were still wearing them." He doesn't look up as he makes the confession.

"Oh." She laughs. "Guess that explains it. I thought you were some crazy super-fast computational machine."

Then she figures out that he's not looking at her. "What?"

"Well, we're all those." He looks up, relieved that she hadn't asked him why he was looking at her to count her tiles. "Once you get the hang of it you will be too."

"Really."

She was a little bewildered that she seemed to have all these abilities and yet had a complete lack of knowledge as to how to integrate them.

"It's got nothing to do with you." He looks into her optics a trifle sternly. "Nothing at all. Do you understand?"

She's taken aback slightly with the harshness he's displaying, but then realizes that he means well.

"Yeah," she says, staring right back at him. "I understand."

[random_xtras]

"Good," he says gently, smiling at her. "None of this is your fault. Now lets go check on Bumblebee and Honey."

She grins and blushes only slightly.

"Have you thought about what you're going to do about the magic marker...?"
