Highlight of my Sundays (besides Wolverine and the X-Men on ABC3) is New Who! It's pretty much the only TV-related fandom I have that actually has new episodes being shown at the moment (I'm looking at you, NBC). That and Ashes to Ashes, but my memory is hazy (I might need to read up on season 2) and due to uni-related life restraints, it seems ( Read more... )

I agree that it was one of his weaker scripts but it was nonetheless ultimately a rather lovely episode and I want to find me a star whale or whatever they were called.

Spoiler-whore that I am I do think I have a bit of an idea where they're going with the marriage thing and I rather like it, but what I read may not have been true soooo....
Am deffs with you on Doctor/TARDIS, and I like that so far Moffat has played that up a wee bit with the "you sexy thing" comment and calling her terms of endearment and whatnot.
honestly though, I would Mary-Sue it up with 11 myself and that isn't true for me of any other Doctor but 8

ngl, I'm excited for WW2 Daleks, although I'm concerned its gonna be not enough WW2 and too much RAH EMPEROR DALEK.

Ohhh, please tell this spoiler which may or may not be true! I love to speculate. :D

Hahaha, the temptation to ship is there! But I really do believe the 11/Amy relationship runs deeper than just romance (if anything can be deeper?).

I HOPE SO TOO. As long as we don't just another half-human-half Dalek thing with 9 penises on its face.

Apparently Amy and Rory do actually get married and the doctor, seeing as he doesn't have money to buy them a gift, gives them the TARDIS for a bit to let them go and have their honey-moon where-ever they please. I'm not sure what would happen after that though? Would Rory continue to travel with them or would he be down with Amy and the doctor gallivanting around space and time for a bit while he nurses it up? idk.

defs, the idea of 11/Amy squicks me even more than most other doctor companion ships. It's the fact that he knew her as a little girl and she grew up with him as essentially an imaginary friend. I see it as being flirty, but platonic but ultimately really meaningful in a non-romantic way.

Yeah, it wasn't as good as what I normally expect from Moffat, but reasonably enjoyable, although I found it hard to buy the idea of space whales.

I really hope that the preview for next week was accurate in emphasizing more of the historical context rather than LOL DALEKS AGAIN.

The space whale was very 'lol, whut?' I liked the parallel to the Doctor though, even if it did come on a bit strong.

Moffat said he would create new monsters this season, but it seems we're getting both the Daleks and the Cybermen :/ They used to sparingly for dramatic effect, methinks.
